Our staff are the heart and soul of ABC.

We’re proud to have a team with a variety of backgrounds and expertise, all working with urgency on behalf of birds. Our experts include:

  • Ornithologists and conservation experts who create strategies and plans to prevent extinctions and reverse population declines.
  • Spanish-speaking staff who hail from or have expertise in the Latin American and Caribbean countries, communities, and cultures where our international work takes place.
  • Legislative advocacy and policy specialists and lobbyists for bird conservation.
  • Ornithologists with advanced education in all things bird-related, including in particular bird species or groups and their conservation needs.
  • Scientists who carry out original research across a variety of subjects, including to help private industry innovate new products, such as bird-friendly glass and ABC BirdTape, and encourage positive actions to minimize impacts.
  • Specialists in various bird threats who conduct and apply research to reduce bird mortality, focusing on threats like invasive species, building collisions, and pesticides.
  • Foresters, grassland specialists, marine biologists, and other habitat experts who know the techniques needed to diversify habitats and optimize them for specific birds or groups of birds.
