Anna Deichmann
Gulf Coastal Program Director
Anna served as the Associate Director for the Galveston Island Nature Tourism Council and worked as a partner with ABC and others on programs including Bird City Texas, FeatherFest and other events, as well as working with fundraising, membership, community outreach, social media communication, and managing volunteers. Anna also worked as the Land Stewardship Coordinator for another ABC partner, the Galveston Bay Foundation, where she was involved in restoring and enhancing habitats, implementing habitat management and stewardship plans, managing grants, monitoring conservation easements and other properties, and public outreach and volunteer coordination. Anna’s coastal experience also includes working for Massachusetts Audubon to monitor and provide stewardship to Piping Plovers, Least and Common Terns, American Oystercatchers, and other coastal species as well as communication and outreach to communities, private landowners, and the public. Her experience in Texas includes grassland bird surveys in prairies and conservation of Black-capped Vireos and Interior Least Terns.
