Judi Brown
Let the Sun Shine In (LSSI) Indiana Coordinator
Judi has lived in Indiana her whole life, growing up in northern Indiana, but escaping to southern Indiana for the past 36 years where she no longer has to deal with lake-effect snow. Judi earned a BS in Forestry from Purdue University, and served as Executive Director for the Dubois County Soil and Water Conservation District for 25 years. There, Judi was responsible for all programs and projects of the SWCD. She collaborated with the Indiana Conservation Partnership to develop innovative outreach and education programs, sought grant funds to put conservation practices to work on the ground, and built partnerships to increase the SWCD’s operating capacity. As a result, Judi worked with a diverse mix of projects that included forest management, soil health, and water quality. Judi also resided on an IDNR State Forest property where her husband was Property Manager for 25 years, so she learned the inner workings of forest property management. Judi enjoys travelling to visit family and friends. A new goal is visiting all of the major league baseball parks with her kids and grandson.
