Carrie Chapin

Range Wildlife Biologist

Carrie grew up in upstate New York, where she spent most of her free time catching frogs, hunting for fossils, and observing birds. Driven by a desire to make a positive impact on nature, Carrie earned her Bachelor’s degree in Fish and Wildlife Conservation from Virginia Tech.

Since then, she has gained conservation experience across the country, working with several nonprofits and the USFWS. In these roles, she earned experience in vegetation and bird surveys, shorebird stewardship, heavy equipment, public outreach, volunteer management, invasive species control, and more. Carrie enjoys exploring public lands, growing a garden, and woodworking.
