How do I get a Zoom link?

The Zoom login link will be automatically sent to the email you used upon registration. It may take up to one hour to receive since it comes from Zoom directly and not American Bird Conservancy. Be sure to check your spam or junk folder; the sender info will be: Zoom <no-reply@zoom.us>.

If you do not receive it within that timeframe, please contact info@abcbirds.org.

You will also receive email reminders from Zoom that contain the link information 1 week, 1 day, and 1 hour before the scheduled webinar start time.

How do I submit a question?

Questions can be submitted through the registration form or live during the webinar. We often incorporate the most frequently asked questions into the presentations or include some questions during our live Q&A. Due to the volume of questions, we can’t answer them all, but we try our best to address the most common topics.

Are all of your webinars recorded? How can I access recordings?

All of our public webinars are recorded. You will receive a link to the recording — and additional resources related to the presentations — in a follow-up email a few days after the webinar. This email will come from American Bird Conservancy, typically our webinar host, Jordan E. Rutter.

You can also enjoy all of our past webinars at any time via this YouTube Playlist

Are your webinars free? Why am I being asked to donate when I register?

Our webinars are free! We ask for donations after registration to support ABC’s mission to conserve wild birds and their habitats across the Americas. However, donating is not required to join or participate in our webinars.

How do I turn on closed captions?

Automated captions are available in all of our webinars. You can turn them on by clicking on the CC icon in the meeting controls toolbar and clicking on “Show Subtitles.”

How do I turn on translation?

Live interpretation is available for some webinars. Availability will be indicated in the registration form.

To turn on interpretation, click on the globe icon at the bottom of the screen. If you can’t see it, click on the three dots, also at the bottom of the screen, and find the interpretation option. From there, you can choose to listen to the presentations in their original language, in English, or in the additional available language (usually Spanish).

Can I get Continuing Education credits for attendance in the webinar? What about Master Naturalist education hours?

ABC can provide a certificate of attendance for live webinars, but it is up to each institution to validate. Please reach out to esanchezvazquez@abcbirds.org to request a certificate.

Can I share the registration or recording link? Can I screen the webinar for my class or for a group I am affiliated with?

We love sharing at ABC! Most of our webinars are free and open to the public, so we encourage you to share the registration links with your networks so they can join, too! abcbirds.org/webinar will always point to the registration form for our next free webinar.

You may also show the webinars as part of a class, club, or other types of group gatherings, using the YouTube link and with proper crediting of ABC.

Are the webinars appropriate for children?
