Emily currently lives in Des Moines, Iowa and most recently worked for Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation as a Conservation Programs Coordinator. In this role, Emily was responsible for the entire grant life cycle and contributed significantly to the implementation of grant funds in the field as a project lead. Emily has experience with a range of federal agencies, including NRCS and USFWS, and state natural resource agencies, along with other private and public institutions such as NFWF. Emily also led research projects for climate science, helping the public to better understand complex topics. Before working at Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation, Emily earned her M.S. and B.S. in Environmental Science from Iowa State University with a focus on water issues in the Midwest. In her free time, Emily is a writer and watercolor painter inspired by nature.
