Jeff Powelson

A long-time resident of Missouri, with extensive experience in many aspects of both grassland and woodland bird and other wildlife conservation. The majority, and last two decades of his career has been with the Missouri Department of Conservation, where he served the last 22 years as a Private Lands Conservationist.  For the last year, he worked gaining experience in the private sector, working for Stantec Consulting as their ecosystem restoration ecologist, implementing native vegetation restoration and management projects across the Great Plains.

Jeff holds a BS from the University of Missouri – Columbia.  When he isn’t actively restoring native habitats or helping others to do so, Jeff enjoys camping and hiking with family, trapping, archery hunting, wildlife photography, and trying to visit every National Park.
