Rory Anderson

Rory Anderson is the Communications & Multimedia Producer for American Bird Conservancy, supporting the Upper Mississippi / Great Lakes Joint Venture. She leads multimedia storytelling and strategic communications that highlight collaborative conservation efforts across the region, with a focus on making habitat work for birds more visible, accessible, and engaging.

Rory’s background spans environmental education, nonprofit communications, and state-level environmental policy. She holds a B.A. in Biology from St. Olaf College and began her career in field biology and environmental education, where she developed a strong foundation in ecological systems and a passion for connecting people to the natural world. She later moved into communications roles, translating complex environmental research and policy into clear, compelling stories.

She calls the Northwoods of Minnesota home, where you’ll often find her identifying lichens on the trail, swimming in Lake Superior year-round, or birdwatching with her dog by her side.
