Shoaib Tareen

Shoaib Tareen is the Co-Founder of The Tareen Filgas Foundation. Born in Pakistan, Shoaib earned his B.Sc and MBA in Finance from the University of Oregon. Shoaib is a Founder and was the CEO of Anthro Corporation (1984), which was an industry leader in design and manufacturing of furniture for technology in healthcare, education and labs. The company was sold in 2015. That same year Shoaib and Cathy Filgas, started the Tareen Filgas Foundation to protect birds and their habitats. The Foundation supports conservation projects both domestically and internationally. In addition, the foundation is restoring a 342 acre coastal forest near Cannon Beach. Prior to Anthro Corp, Shoaib held managerial positions in Finance and Marketing at Tektronix Inc.

Shoaib and Cathy and their two pugs spend their time in Portland and Cannon Beach, Oregon. Since 1986, they have been restoring their 7 acre property with native plants and trees as part of the urban wildlife corridor. Shoaib is an avid birder/photographer and has traveled extensively in the US and overseas.
