Amanda Haverland
Southern Great Plains Science Coordinator
Amanda was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago where she fell in love with forests, nature, and especially birds. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in art & technology, she switched gears to follow a passion for wildlife and moved to San Marcos, Texas, to peruse a graduate degree in wildlife ecology. She studied Green Herons for her masters thesis and then went on to complete a PhD focused on Eastern Black Rails in coastal Texas. After an internship with USFWS and a seasonal job with Audubon, Amanda joined ABC and the Oaks and Prairies Joint Venture.
