David W Shaw

David Shaw comes to ABC with sixteen years of experience running birding tours and photography workshops throughout the world. Prior to offering travel adventures, Dave attained a masters degree in wildlife biology studying neotropical birds in Mexico and worked as a research biologist at the Alaska Bird Observatory. While building his tour business, he served as a board member on multiple conservation non-profits and has been an advocate for wildlife and wilderness causes. Dave has worked on assignment to document at-risk ecosystems with the associated articles and images being used in numerous conservation campaigns. After 23 years of living in an off-grid, waterless cabin in Alaska, he now calls Salida, Colorado home where he lives with his partner and explores his new home range in the Sawatch Mountains.
