Eric Margenau
Wildlife Habitat Specialist
Eric Margenau is a Wildlife Habitat Specialist with American Bird Conservancy (ABC), starting his position on September 23, 2024. Eric will be based in the Rhinelander Field Office, and will primarily work across the northern parts of Wisconsin as a part of ABC’s staff team implementing the Regional Conservation Partnership Program “Improving Forest Health for Wildlife Resources.”
Eric is from northern Wisconsin and obtained his MSc from Alabama A&M University and his PhD from West Virginia University where he focused on evaluating songbird and upland game bird response to forest management in the central Appalachian region. Eric enjoys nordic skiing, hunting, hiking, and birding with his family. He has a passion for songbird conservation and how forest management can be used to mitigate the effects of climate change on our natural world.
