Kent Pfeiffer

Kent Pfeiffer earned B.S. in Wildlife Biology from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and an M.S. in Biology from Kansas State University, where his research focused on the interaction of fire and bison grazing in prairie ecosystems.

Kent works with private landowners and conservation partners to improve and restore grassland and oak woodland habitats across Nebraska. He previously served as Land Manager for the Crane Trust and later as a Program Manager and private lands biologist with Northern Prairies Land Trust. Throughout his career, he has focused on prescribed fire, restoration, habitat management, conservation planning, and stewardship of Nebraska’s grasslands and oak woodlands.

Outside of work, Kent enjoys gardening, hybridizing bearded irises, and maintains the Irises database for the National Gardening Association. He and his wife, Rebecca, have two children, Olivia and Wyatt.
