Gifts of Stock and Wire Transfers
You can support American Bird Conservancy’s mission to protect wild birds and their habitats by making a gift of stocks or securities, or by wiring a donation directly to ABC. IRA Gifts
Protect birds and their habitats right now with a qualified charitable distribution to ABC directly from your IRA!
In 2025, if you are 70.5 years old or older, you can give any amount up to $108,000 per year directly from your IRA to ABC (or other qualified charities) without having to pay federal income tax on that money. This qualified charitable deduction (QCD) is a great opportunity to support ABC’s bird conservation efforts, and more and more of our supporters are taking advantage of it.
Your QCD contribution can also qualify for your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), which you must take every year once you turn 73.
Please remember:
- You can help ABC protect the birds of the Americas with this simple, tax-free way to make a gift.
- Your gift must be made directly from your IRA to ABC. If you first withdraw the funds from your account and then donate them to ABC, they do not qualify for the tax benefits. You can contact your IRA administrator to request that this gift be made by check, and please be sure they include your name and address with it.
- If you are 73, your RMD must be completed by December 31 each year.
