Edward joins ABC and the Central Hardwoods Joint Venture, as the Southern Indiana Birdscape Coordinator. He’s a forester from southern Indiana, with a passion for birds and science based forest management. With a B.S. in Forestry from Purdue University, Edward started his forestry career helping manage Purdue University research properties around the state of Indiana, he later moved to Department of Natural Resources, as property manager at Jackson-Washington State Forest. After a few years of managing public land Edward returned to Purdue university to work in Extension and pursue a Masters in education, focusing primarily in forestry extension work with some agriculture programing. Edward brings experience in forest management, educational programing, wildland fire (both wild and prescribe fire), Eastern U.S. Birds, and plenty of occasional unnecessary factoids. His favorite tree is Bur Oak (Q. macrocarpa) and his favorite bird is the Wood Duck.
