Eliot Miller

Eliot holds a Ph.D. in Ecology, Evolution, and Systematics from the University of Missouri and the Macquarie University in Australia. Prior to working at American Bird Conservancy, Eliot worked at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, where he was a Schmidt Futures AI in Science Postdoctoral Fellow and worked closely with the Macaulay Library. There he was part of the initial development of Merlin sound ID and had the opportunity to teach eBird and Merlin workshops in Latin America and Africa. At American Bird Conservancy Eliot is leading development of the BirdsPlus Index tool, which will enable data-driven investment decisions and ESG reporting, as well as help demonstrate that protecting biodiversity can be profitable, paving the way for replicable, nature-positive investment models.
