Along with an extensive network of local partners, we identify the areas most vital for species’ survival. Together, we have created over 130 protected areas totaling more than 1.3 million acres across 15 countries. Through habitat restoration and ongoing stewardship, we help to conserve irreplaceable habitat for more than 80 of the Western Hemisphere’s most endangered bird species, including range-restricted birds like the Antioquia Brushfinch and Blue-throated Macaw. As destinations for migratory species in the nonbreeding season, reserves are integral to our commitment to conserving birds throughout their full annual cycles.
