Restoring Habitat

A Collaborative Effort

Stewarding habitat for birds is a collaborative effort, one we carry out with partners ranging from the JVs and private landowners to state and federal agencies and sustainability-minded businesses, to name a few.

Experts from ABC and our partners work throughout the Americas to conserve birds and their habitats.
Experts from ABC and our partners work throughout the Americas to conserve birds and their habitats.

Together, we manage working forests in the southeastern U.S. for species like Swallow-tailed Kites, restore hundreds of thousands of acres of grasslands for Long-billed Curlews and Chestnut-collared Longspurs, create breeding habitat for Golden-winged Warblers, and much more.

Our work to restore, enhance, create, and connect habitats throughout North America complements our efforts to create and maintain reserves on birds’ nonbreeding grounds in Latin America and the Caribbean. In restoring habitat for migratory birds, we’re also helping resident species gain a stronger foothold.
