Kaitlyn Parkins
Kaitlyn has been working in wildlife conservation since 2008, holding research positions studying native plants, pollinators, migratory birds, and bats. After moving to New York City in 2012, she began birding as a way to connect with nature in the city and was introduced to the world of urban bird conservation through an internship conducting window collision monitoring. Prior to joining ABC, Kaitlyn focused on mitigating threats to urban birds through research, policy, and outreach and worked to help pass bird-friendly building and lights out legislation and advised on bird-friendly retrofits. Kaitlyn holds an MS in biology and an advanced certificate in conservation biology from Fordham University and a BA in biology and psychology from McDaniel College. Her favorite bird is the Black-necked Stilt.
