American Bird Conservancy is proud to be named a “2021 Top-Rated Nonprofit” by GreatNonprofits.

(Washington, D.C., October 28, 2021) American Bird Conservancy (ABC) announced today it has been named a “2021 Top-Rated Nonprofit” by GreatNonprofits, the leading website for community recommendations of charities and nonprofits.

ABC has worked for over 25 years to protect wild birds and their habitats across the Americas, resulting in numerous species safeguarded from extinction, millions of acres conserved, and progress made to eliminate threats to birds and to build conservation capacity.

“We are honored to be named a 2021 Top-Rated Nonprofit,” said Erin Chen, ABC's Vice President of Development. “We are proud of our accomplishments this year, from working with our partner SAVE Brasil to protect the most important remaining habitat of Brazil's Critically Endangered Cherry-throated Tanager, to advising the National Aquarium in Baltimore on how it can make all of the glass in its buildings — including all 684 panes in its iconic glass pyramid — safer for birds.”

The Top-Rated Nonprofit Award is based on the rating and number of reviews that ABC received from volunteers, donors, and aid recipients.

“American Bird Conservancy is my number one non-profit for bird conservation,” states one testimonial. “I've been a member for over 25 years and have always been amazed at the work they do on behalf of birds. I am a birder and a lot of our charitable support goes to birding organizations but the American Bird Conservancy tops my list. They actively work to conserve threatened bird species in the western hemisphere, partnering with other organizations to save birds. Their land and bird conservation projects provide benefits to other wildlife and people as well. I appreciate all that ABC does for birds!”

Another member stated: “ABC is not the largest conservation organization in the USA, but it is arguably the outstanding example of how to concentrate effort and use donated funds effectively.”

“ABC is a great example of a nonprofit making a real difference in their community,” said Perla Ni, CEO of GreatNonprofits. “Their award is well-deserved recognition not only of their work, but the tremendous support they receive, as shown by the many outstanding reviews they have received from people who have direct experience working with ABC.”

GreatNonprofits is the largest donation website for nonprofits and where people share stories about their personal experiences on more than 1.6 million charities and nonprofits. The GreatNonprofits Top-Rated Awards are the only awards for nonprofits determined by those who have direct experience with the charities – as donors, volunteers, and recipients of aid.
