Jordania E. Rutter
Director de Comunicaciones
Jordan is a lifelong birder with a passion for connecting others to the natural world through birds. As Director of Communications, Jordan works to highlight ABC’s incredible staff and the meaningful work taking place each day to advance bird conservation efforts across the Americas, and loves balancing her passion as a birder with her knowledge as an ornithologist and expertise in Communications strategy in order to connect people who care about birds with ABC’s mission to conserve them.
Jordan holds a Bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College where she studied Gray Catbirds and their uropygial (or preen) oil for her honors’ thesis. She received a conservation biology Master’s degree from University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, with a concentration in ornithology and science communication. Her graduate work focused on the Great Lakes Piping Plover and the human dimensions aspect of its recovery efforts, including the impact of dogs on beaches.
Jordan’s husband, Gabriel, is also a lifelong birder, both personally and professionally. Their home is decorated with endless bird decor, and together they enjoy cultivating a bird-friendly habitat in their yard, including native plants, bird feeders, water features, and more!
You can see it all in action for yourself each month by attending one of ABC’s free webinars. Keep an eye out for the pair of binoculars that are a fixture on her desk and the mug of bird-friendly coffee helping fuel her each day.
Celebrate birds with her on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, y Bluesky!
As always, she wishes you good birding!
