Avary Sassaman

A Pennsylvania native, Avary calls the Blue Mountains outside of Harrisburg her home. She holds a Master’s degree in Communication from La Salle University in Philadelphia and has spent over 12 years teaching communication to college students. In addition to empowering students to find their voices as public speakers, she has worked in public media and conservation-focused nonprofits, supporting fundraising initiatives through digital storytelling, multimedia creation, community outreach, and event coordination.

She’s dedicated to building relationships and bringing people together around a shared appreciation for plants, animals, and the natural world.

A lifelong animal lover, her passion for wildlife, especially birds, deepened through her volunteer work as a wildlife rehabilitator. Outside of work, you’ll find her voraciously reading in preparation for her next book club, searching thrift stores for her next treasure, or planning her next international adventure.
